إِلَيْهِ يُرَدَُّ 1219 الجاثية
وَقِيلَ الْيَوْمَ نَنْسَاكُمْ كَمَا نَسِيتُمْ لِقَاءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا وَمَأْوَاكُمُ النَّارُ وَمَا لَكُمْ مِنْ نَاصِرِينَ ﴿۳۴﴾ ذَلِكُمْ بِأَنَّكُمُ اتَّخَذْتُمْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ هُزُوًا وَغَرَّتْكُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا فَالْيَوْمَ لَا يُخْرَجُونَ مِنْهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ ﴿۳۵﴾ فَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَرَبِّ الْأَرْضِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ﴿۳۶﴾ وَلَهُ الْكِبْرِيَاءُ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ ﴿۳۷﴾
﴾34﴿ Wa qeelal yawma nansaakum kamaa naseetum liqaaa'a yawmikum haazaa wa maawaakumun Naaru wa maa lakum min naasireen
﴾35﴿ Zaalikum bi annakumut takhaztum aayaatil laahi huzuwanw wa gharratkumul hayaatud dunyaa; fal yawma laa yukhrajoona minhaa wa laahum yusta'taboon
﴾36﴿ Falillaahil hamdu Rabbis samaawaati wa Rabbil ardi Rabbil-'aalameen
﴾37﴿ Wa lahul kibriyaaa'u fissamaawaati wal ardi wa Huwal 'Azeezul Hakeem
﴾34﴿ And it will be said, Today We will forsake you just as you forgot the meeting of this Day of yours, and your abode is the Fire, and there will be no helpers for you
﴾35﴿ This is because you took the signs of Allah in mockery, and the worldly life deceived you. So today, they will not be taken out of the Fire, nor will their repentance be accepted
﴾36﴿ So all praise belongs to Allah alone, the Lord of the heavens, the Lord of the earth, and the Lord of all worlds
﴾37﴿ And to Him alone belongs all greatness in the heavens and the earth, and He alone is the Almighty, the All-Wise
[34] This too is included in the theme of warning and fear.
[35] This mentions the causes of punishment:
The first cause is mockery of the revealed and rational signs, which were mentioned earlier in this surah.
The second is heedlessness due to greed and love of the world, which led them to forget the Hereafter.
(وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ) – derived from ʿitāb (blame), meaning they will not be given the chance to remove blame by presenting an excuse before Allah the Exalted.
Or it is derived from ʿutbā, meaning return—that is, they will not be asked to repent or return (no opportunity for repentance will be given).
[36,37] This too presents rational proofs along with the claim of Tawḥīd (Oneness of Allah).
It also serves as a conclusion tied to the theme of the surah.
Meaning: Allah the Exalted has clarified the sharīʿah through revealed and rational signs, therefore, praise (ḥamd) is due to Him alone by all creation.
(وَلَهُ الْكِبْرِيَاءُ) – this removes even the suspicion of shirk (association), showing that no one can share in Allah’s praise.
Because "kibriyāʼ" (majesty, greatness) belongs exclusively to Allah the Exalted—grandeur, glory, sovereignty, and power are all His alone.
So no one can be His partner in praise or attributes.
