َ حم 1231 الأحقاف

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَلَمْ يَعْيَ بِخَلْقِهِنَّ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَى أَنْ يُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتَى بَلَى إِنَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ﴿۳۳﴾ وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا عَلَى النَّارِ أَلَيْسَ هَذَا بِالْحَقِّ قَالُوا بَلَى وَرَبِّنَا قَالَ فَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ ﴿۳۴﴾ فَاصْبِرْ كَمَا صَبَرَ أُولُو الْعَزْمِ مِنَ الرُّسُلِ وَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلْ لَهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَ مَا يُوعَدُونَ لَمْ يَلْبَثُوا إِلَّا سَاعَةً مِنْ نَهَارٍ بَلَاغٌ فَهَلْ يُهْلَكُ إِلَّا الْقَوْمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ ﴿۳۵﴾

﴾33﴿ Awalam yaraw annal laahal lazee khalaqas samaawaati wal arda wa lam ya'ya bikhal qihinna biqaadirin 'alaaa aiyuhyiyal mawtaa; balaaa innahoo 'alaa kulli shai'in Qadeer
﴾34﴿ Wa Yawma yu'radul lazeena kafaroo 'alan naari alaisa haaza bil haqq; qaaloo balaa wa Rabbinaa; qaala fazooqul 'azaaba bimaa kuntum takfuroon
﴾35﴿ Fasbir kamaa sabara ulul 'azmi minar Rusuli wa laa tasta'jil lahum; ka annahum Yawma yarawna maa yoo'adoona lam yalbasooo illaa saa'atam min nahaar; balaagh; fahal yuhlaku illal qawmul faasiqoon

﴾33﴿ Do they not see that indeed Allah is the One who created the heavens and the earth and was not wearied by their creation? He is surely able to bring the dead to life. Yes, indeed, He is over all things powerful
﴾34﴿ And on the Day when the disbelievers are presented before the Fire, it will be said, Is this not the truth? They will say, "Yes, by our Lord, Allah will say, Then taste the punishment for what you used to deny
﴾35﴿ So be patient, just as the resolute messengers were patient, and do not seek to hasten the punishment for them. Indeed, on the Day when they see what they have been promised, it will seem as if they had not remained (in the world) except for an hour of a day. This is the message conveyed, so none will be destroyed except the defiantly disobedient people

[33] In this verse is a warning to those who deny the Resurrection, even though they know of Allah’s power—yet still reject the concept of being brought back to life.
This is the explanation of “clear misguidance” (ḍalāl mubīn) mentioned in the previous verse.
(Wa lam ya‘ya bikhlaqihinna)—This is proof that until now, there has been no flaw or weakness in Allah’s creation and system.
If there had been any weakness, a flaw would surely have appeared—just as mentioned in Sūrat Qāf (verse 15).
[34] After proving the Resurrection, He describes its awe to instill fear. In the previous verse (20), He mentioned the causes of punishment, and in this one, He mentions the confession of the deniers along with the punishment.
[35] Since the denial of the disbelievers regarding the Oneness of God, the Prophethood, the Qur’an, and the Resurrection has been mentioned, now the Prophet (May Allah bless him and give him peace) is being consoled by being commanded to be patient and not to hasten the punishment. “Ulul-‘Azm from among the messengers” – the meaning of “‘Azm” is firmness in remaining steadfast in religion despite all kinds of hardships, without complaining to creation. Or it refers to the five messengers mentioned in Surah Ash-Shura (13) and in Al-Ahzab (7). “What they are promised” is general—whether it be punishment in this world or in the Hereafter. “So will anyone be destroyed except the defiantly disobedient people?” – this too is part of consoling the Prophet, meaning after conveying the message, punishment specifically befalls the disobedient. But if the message is not conveyed, then a general punishment descends.
